Join the launch of Bowling Park’s first ever community food garden!

In a workshop led by professional gardener Lisa Knite — who works on the set of Emmerdale tending to their on‑screen allotment — you’ll learn how to plant, grow and support an urban garden.

You’ll also be invited to return later in the year to enjoy the harvest!

Focusing on practical gardening skills you can use at home (whether you have a large garden or just a windowsill), Lisa will help set you on the path to creating your own supply of free, organic food, while establishing the first crops for the community garden.

What to Expect

  • Hands-on vegetable planting, guided by an expert.
  • Free use of tools, plants and seedlings, supported by the National Lottery Community Fund.
  • A family-friendly atmosphere.
  • A chance to be part of a community experience.
  • Learn new skills to help you grow your own vegetables at home.
  • Enjoy beautiful surroundings: close to the award‑winning Lodge Café, playgrounds, sports facilities, gardens and Bolling Hall, now a free museum.
